“One could not ignore the fact, that the important, the interesting and the innovative part of this Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra concert, was a piece by a contemporary Israeli composer. The “Hebrew Magnificat” by Aviya Kopelman was performed with two popular pieces by giants – Prokofiev and Shostakovich – and they haven’t shadowed it. It was surprising. If the concert was happening again, I’d run to hear it again for Kopelman’s piece.”
