AWARD WINNING COMPOSER Aviya Kopelman‘s DEBUT ALBUM

MINORITY

IS A UNIQUE CONCEPT VOYAGE WHERE THE INDIE POP / ART POP SONGS BECOME THE THEME AND INSPIRATION FOR THE POWERFUL INSTRUMENTAL CREATIONS INTERWEAVING THEM.

Aviya Kopelman is a leading Israeli composer, born in Moscow, raised in Jerusalem, living in Tel Aviv and internationally renowned for her orchestral, chamber music and vocal works which she composed for multiple ensembles around the world.
Crossing over to the popular music world, in January 2021, she released her first full length: “Minority”, an indie pop/art pop album composed of 11 songs and instrumental works.
The songs in the album introduce a singular blend of adventurous production alongside artfully arranged contemporary composition, reminiscent of artists such as Massive Attack, Radiohead, and Björk whilst the lyrics thoughtfully deal with  meaningful issues such as grief (“Grief Measure”), kindness (“Smile, “Hidden Place”), absence (“Restless”) — an existential look into life and death.
The instrumental tracks are impromptus for strings interweaving the songs and freely based on them, bringing to mind string music by Philip Glass, Clint Mansell, Jonny Greenwood and George Crumb.

The album was entirely written, composed, arranged and produced by Aviya and was mastered by Mandy Parnell (Brian Eno, Sigur Ros, Bjork) and recorded by the vocalist Ella Joy Meir.
For performing MINORITY Aviya re-arranged it for a smaller ensemble of voice, piano, SPD with electronics and string quartet, and joined forces with the vocalist Davidavi (Vidi) Dolev. Haifa Based, genre bending, internationally known vocalist and songwriter Davidavi (vidi) Dolev, has won album of the year titles around the world during 2021 for his work in the rock and metal field, corporated with globally known musicians including members of Guns & Roses, Within Temptation and more. Vidi has performed in over 20 different countries. countries.  Together with the rest of the band, they are now all set to tour the world with this innovative project.
